Alan Dunne
Founder & CiO
Alan has over 30 years of experience in global financial markets across global macro and managed futures hedge funds, investment banks and institutional asset management. His work has focused on macro strategy, hedge fund allocation and portfolio construction across a wide range of market environments.

Prior to founding Archive Capital Advisors, Alan was Managing Director, Head of Markets and a member of the Investment Committee at Abbey Capital, a $6bn multi-manager alternative investment manager.
​
He began his career as a foreign exchange analyst and trader at Bank of America in London, Hong Kong and Singapore, and later worked at BNP Paribas in emerging markets. After returning to Dublin, he joined Allied Irish Capital Management, a global macro commodity trading advisor. He subsequently served as Investment Director of Royal Bank of Scotland’s wealth management business in Ireland, where he led the investment team and was responsible for asset allocation.

Alan writes on macroeconomic developments and portfolio construction through his Beyond the Cycle Substack and LinkedIn newsletter The All Weather Investor, and is co-host of the Top Traders Unplugged allocator series. He is also a regular contributor to financial media.

Alan is a CFA Charterholder and holds an MSc in Investment Management from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, an MBA from Smurfit Business School, and a BA (Mod) in Economics from Trinity College Dublin.
